This is a charming vintage figural wine decanter shaped like the Eiffel Tower, crafted in cream-glazed ceramic with a distinctive crackled finish and dark detailing throughout the lattice work.
The piece was made by the historic Boccaccio pottery workshop (“Casa Vinaria Boccaccio”) in Certaldo, Italy - a maker’s mark on the base reads “Since 1948.” It was imported to the United States by Banfi Products Corp. of New York, a well-known importer of Italian wines and spirits during the mid-20th century, as shown by the original paper label on one of the tower’s legs (Permit N 2-1-305).
These novelty decanters were originally sold filled with Italian wine and later kept as decorative collectibles - a fun piece of vintage barware and Italian pottery history.
Condition: Shows expected crazing/crackling throughout the glaze consistent with age (see photos). No chips or major damage noted. Original Boccaccio cork/cap with maker’s seal intact.
